Amp fuse location?

Hi,
new to the forum and E53 here I just purchased 4.6is with the stereo problem - I get absolutely no sound through the speakers, but the radio appears to be working. Navigation works too. Where is the amp fuse located? I found one for the radio, but I assume that there should be another one for the amp. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Did you find the fuse box inside the glove box or the one in rear cargo area, passenger side.

Yes, I found 5A fuse there, as well as another 5A fuse in the trunk. Is there a separate 200A fuse for the amp somewhere?

There are ten, I repeat, ten (10) seperate fuse locations in the X5, I've seen the diagram although in my advanced years, I cannot remember where. There have been two of the ten locations mentioned i.e., glovebox and right rear storage compartment. Good luck. I of course wish I remembered the other eight. Oh, yeah, wherever you go in your search, besides a "burned-out" check...also take your hand and run it along ALL fuses to make sure of proper seating.

I too am looking for a fuse for the Amp. The Radio seems to tune OK and switches between AM and FM but I get no sound.

Water was in the area of the Radio and the Amp, I would like to do the troubleshooting myself...any ideas?

Can't turn radio off

While I'm waiting on my parts to work on a different issue, I thought I would try and tackle this one. I have a 2000 X5 with the business version am/fn cassette radio with 6 cd changer in the rear.

Here are the symptoms of this radio:

- The radio only allows me the ability to turn it on every once in a while. I've only been successful in turning 4 times since I've had the car.

- Unfortunately for me this time I turned it on, I can't turn it off.

- The radio has zero bass.

There is a very annoying loud (I mean LOUD!!!!!) buzz noise that comes from all speakers whenever the radio is in on.
* if the tape is on the buzz is there
* if the radio is on the buzz is there
* if the sound is turned all the way down, the buzz is ther
* if you turn the volumn up and down, the buzz volume stays the same.
* if the car is turned off and the radio is on, the buzz is still there.

No matter what the situation is, the buzz is there if the radio is on.

the buzz volumn is constant and nver changing.

I removed the 30 amp fuse from the fuse box in the rear on the right had side with no luck.

I unpluged the amp, the music stopped but the buzz continued.

You have a ground issue with one of the boxes themselves - check for metal to metal contact.
