x5 Extras (Seat Warmers)

I recently bought an X5 which has seat warmer buttons but nothing happens when i press them...
I know seat warmers are optional but i presume the buttons wouldnt be there if it didnt have them?
Any help??

it takes a while before you can feel the heat.
When you press the button do you see 3 green lights on it?

You talking about front or rear seats? Also, did you check the fuses?

Thanks for the replies.

Its for the buttons on the front... Nothing happens when i push them. I checked the 2 fuses that are for electronic seat heating but both are fine...

Would the buttons be there if it didnt have the option?

No, they wouldn't. I noticed on my X that the drivers seat takes at least twice as long to heat up than any other seat, as the seat has more wear in the cushion and the heating element takes longer to heat up. I just hope I don't get the burned but some people get from old seat heaters...

One possibility is that they are unplugged. Maybe the previous owner or shop had the seats out and didn't plug everything in properly. Is your car still under warranty?

Nope no warranty, bought the car as is..

I cant see anything on the bmw printout that makes me think the seats have come out...

is there anything else i can check besides the fuses?

Yeah, pop the console out that has the seat heating buttons and follow the cables to make sure they are connected to the seats.

I took out the fuses again and didnt find any blown... have also discovered that if the seat warmer button is pressed continuously as the key gets turned it flashes a few times and then shuts off completely... any help???

Did you run the cabling to see if it was disconnected or broken? Get a new switch and see if they'll work.
