i am a proud owner of an X5 2001 4.4i for just 2 months now. my iphone (rev) is showing the above fault code twice now first about a month ago and today is the second time. btw, the dash is showing 'Trans Fail Safe Prog'. i've cleared it through rev but i'm not sure what really the problem is. the local BMW dealer personnel does not recognize 'Speed Sensor' when referring to my trans. where should i start looking for this trouble. My temporary remedy when the dash is showing 'Trans Fail Safe Prog' is i turn off the car and wait for a while then turn on again and the error message is gone, but i'm not really happy when i'm doing this. can anyone please direct me to the right path on how to get rid of this? cheers, royemaun |

I think I understand what you trying to do.
You pulled the P0715 code using whatever generic code reader you using which says "Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit. That code is generic. So you called the $tealer and asked about that error and they told you what they did because on their systems it wouldn't show up that way. Their diagnosis would show that code to be Transmission ...... What you need is a $tealer/indy with the proper diagnostic equipment.
