I had my X5 tinted last week. 20% fronts/15% around.

One complaint I have is that there is a visible line around the outskirt of the defroster line of the rear windows.

Was wondering if any of you also have/had this issue?

Per the instrument, my fronts were 28%...the officer mentioned that i was close enough to the 35% NYC limit and let me go.
Where'd you get your tints done Chilli? And where in Bk did they stop you?

IMOLAredNC4.8is is an unknown quantity at this point
I have 5 % all around and love it. Don't know what I would do with out parking sensors. The back is darker than 5 % because it was tinted over the stock what ever that is.

Ldiggs...there's a fella i've been using for several years now, his guys are efficient and do quality work. He's in the south Park Slope area - 2 Hour Auto Glass Service

I was pulled over in Times Square as i was pulling into my office parking garage. One of the very rare times i actually drive into work. Had just landed from a red eye @ JFK and was briefly heading into the office to drop off some material. Only place in BK i've seen this type of activity was on Hamilton Ave, near the Battery Tunnel area....Other than that it's been common in Manhattan.

Had mine tinted at the dealership as part of my deal. They offer Tint, clear bra and wheel repair/repainting right on site. The wheel repair is a mobile guy with his own shop set up right at the dealership. That said, the tint matches exactly what the factory darkness and color is on the back doors and windows. I think it looks great and they guaranteed it for life.
Not a huge fan, personally, of the super dark tint but think it looks nice. It just makes it a bit more difficult to see out at night, an my eyes are not as good as they used to be.

BTW, percentages of tint will look different on every car. Color of the tint, color of the stock glass, color of the INTERIOR, if not if the sunroof is open or not, affects the *online pics* you are seeing FWIW
