2 Almost down 3 to go

Hi gang, the following is my list of mods that i want to do on my 2003 4.4i X5.

1. Angel Eyes
2. Skid Plate
3. SMG steering wheel.
4. 22inch wheels
5. LED tail lights.

I have recently bought Depo headlights also known as P53 for around US$434 shipped, which i beleive is a good price. They have 4k HID kit installed but i was wondering if its possible to use my factory bulb and balast instead of the Depo one.

I have also bought the skid plate and at the moment its in the paint shop. I will be installing the skid plate this coming weekend and the lights next weekend.

Any tips from you Mod Masters would be appreciated.

One last thing i have noticed a clunk sound everytime i turn the X5 left. I dont here it on the freeway only when i am making a turn more than 30 degrees or more. i hope its nothing serious.

Definitely check your CV boot, if it is torn, you may need to replace the CV joint. I'm no expert, but the smaller front suspension components such as CV boot/joint; sway bars, seem to fail between 50k and 65k, atleast that is what happened with me. Fortunately, mine was under CPO warranty during these failures and all was replaced one by one.

if you're going 22" do the style 168 or style 214 in 22" - so they at least look BMW.. but there are some nice 22" out there for the e53.. almost had a pair myself..

i don't believe you can use the oem D2S bulbs on that setup. when i got my aftermarket headlights i had to switch to H7 bulbs. you can always sell your oem ballasts and make some good $$ off them.
