Well, time to say goodbye...

After having driven 2 X5's (both 3.0d, 1 pre facelift, other one with facelift) for 8 months, I came to the conclusion that an X5 is not a car for me. It's a great car, fast, comfortable, all you want, but to me not a fun car. I miss the "freude am fahren" when driving this BMW. I'm not criticizing the X5 as it's the best you can get in de SUV territory, but I need something that makes me "feel" that I'm driving. Therefor, I bought a used 330Cd, while waiting for the 335d to come out (about 2 years I think). Tommorow, the car goes in and I'm picking up the 330Cd. I'm sure the "freude am fahren" is not an issue when driving a 4.8is, but with all the driving I do, gas prices and the almost €90K base pricetag, makes it a car for millionaires overhere.
I'm loosing a lot of money (car is 3 months old) but so be it . My first mistake and hopefully the last one.

I enjoyed this forum very much and I'll be lurking once a while to see what goes in the X5 world

Thanks for the advice I got here and drive safely...

That's too bad but you must do what you must do. Your X5 is one of a kind and the colour combo is the most unique I have ever seen. Someone will be getting a very nice pre-owned X5.

Do still come around. You're always welcome here.

Best of luck with the new ride, tomwac.

Over here, there are no diesels that would make me feel that I'm driving, as you put it. I sure wouldn't mind paying for diesel these days here in the States.

Well, in Europe and certainly in France, Belgium, etc diesel is the only way if you do a lot of milage. As for "diesel fun" check out this video...I think I'll have some fun with the 330Cd
