Whats my 4.8is worth?
So Im thinking of selling the X5 and figured this group of BMW enthusiasts would be a good sounding board for price suggestions. Basically its a 2005 X5 4.8is. I just hit 70,000 miles, bought it with 30k. The car is CPO, good until 100k miles or 2011. It is fully loaded with every option except running boards and I had the $1k tow hitch also installed. For service, I have recently put in new a-arms, bushings, front air struts, window regulators, brakes about 15k miles ago, and it has new tires on the stock wheels. It was also recently alligned. I could also potentially include the winter wheels/tires and spacers. Paint is perfect except for a scratch on the drivers door handle and a scratch on a small piece on the rear hatch, from a ski or snowboard touching it. Both pieces are easy to remove from the car, so no blending or anything else needs to be done. Leather is flawless as is everything else in the car. So thats basically the story. I have looked around a bit and there are 4 cpo 4.8is' in the US for sale at bmw dealers, so not alot to compare with. The closest to me in Boston is in NY and at 41k miles they are asking $41k. I know thats not a good barometer of value, but it gives some ideas Any thoughts are appreciated, just trying to get to the right number before i put it out there. Also, no pics as of yet. Its silver with cream interior with the sport seats. Thanks guys, its appreciated

Anywhere around $32k (+/- $2k) seems to be a fair market price. Please note that +/- depends upon condition of your X5.

I just hit 46,000 on my 2006 4.8 with stage 3 Dinan, invision headrest, x-pipe and ferric grey 215 style rims. Fully loaded with running boards,M3 steering wheel with paddle shifters, black interior with titanium trim and front & rear flares.
For those of you who didnt get the title of this thread....Let me clarify.... Whats the realistic value of my car? |

i am thinking more like high 20's. A new member just picked up a one owner black 4.8is with 32K miles still under factory warrantee for $36K. I paid half that for my 4.6is with 94K miles last year. I think you would do well to get high $20's. If it were me I'd list it at $29,899 or so and see what happens.

Thanks C4, any idea on that location? I have noticed some geographical differences in available supply and pricing.

I was offered $30K cash for mine over the weekend in the New York area...I'm still thinking about it. My dilema is....what do I replace the X5 with? I just love the 4.8..... and with 30K an '08 cayeene turbo is unobtainable
