What is the best way to secure 4 wheels to the roof?

I'm Heading back home to LA from Illinois and I have and extra set of rims. They are a set of 18. Any ideas? There are no inside for them, the inside will be full of stuff from the house. Do you think the stock roof racks would hold the weight if secured to them? I don't really want to lose them on the road.
Thanks

anyone wanna buy the set of 17" stockers for cheap if i cant find a solution.

Not worth taking the risk with 18" rims on roof. You will need a roof rack or something as you cannot secure them as is.
Ditch the 17 and cruise on 18".
The stock 17 chick wheels are very cheap...lucky if you get even 300 for them. Nobody wants them.

or you can take the 17" to salvage store and sell there. I will not spend any money on those wheels.

Gotta agree with LeMans, best move is to move on from the 17" 57 chick wheels.

That post on chick wheels is fantastic. Post #1 and #8 are outragous.

Well that was the plan when I got here for Grad School. I got the 18" for cheap but didnt get around to selling the 17". Finally have to do it because I leaving for home. The second reason is that tire life is still good enough on the 17s. I would have to buy new tires for the 18s.

Or yet a better option sell the 18s drive home on the 17s and buy 20s when I get home.

can your really sell the 18's for much more than the 17"?

depending on how fast you can unload the 18" or 17", put both on sale, whichever one sells faster, keep the other ones, and upgrade to 20"
