Did you try the key reinitialization procedure from the articles page yet?

Just read again and you may have a problem with the general module... Try doing a battery reset for a minute by removing the ground terminal. That just might do it for ya.

Sorry that didn't work, but it was worth a try. I just got back in town tonight which is why I wasn't able to respond .

So all the locks work with the remote but the drivers, and if you use the key in the drivers it doesn't affect the others as it should. Your problem is with the drivers door latch, whether it is unplugged, has bad connections in the door or door jamb, or is simply a bad part (which is most likely unfortunately).

If any work has been done to/in that door recently it may be worth a look in there, but I'd prepare myself for door latch replacement.

It will only lock if it is latched. If you just have it plugged in to try it you would need to latch it for it to lock. But to answer the question, I believe it is lin bus operated and any relays for the central locking and windows would be internal to the general module. But there is always the possibility of a bad connection at the connector in the door jamb, blown fuse in the glovebox located fuse panel, etc. That's the beauty of the GT1 and other dealer systems is it can see lock/unlock requests and statuses through diagnostic resuests and can activate the components individually through component activation... Makes diagnosis easy.
