X5 feels sluggish
Hello All,
I've been contemplation posting for advice for some time now. I hope you guys can assist me.
I have a 2001 4.4L X5 w/108,XXX miles on the odometer. Averaging 16MPG highway. A few months back my battery crapped out on me while I was out of town. I immediately called roadside assistance which dispatched a wrecker to provide a jump start. Once I got the truck started, I slowly drove to the nearest BMW dealership w/the tranny in failsafe mode. After I bought a new battery the truck was running fine but.....I've noticed that I don't have the neck snapping throttle response when accelerating from a complete stop. There seems to be some sort of lag or drag. I have to really get on the gas to get going.
I don't know if its just a coincedence that I noticed it after my battery crapped out or if I'm in need of a tune up. I've verified the tire pressure for all 4 tires. Checked to see if any of the brakes are sticking. I'm not sure what else I should check before I take it to a shop. The X5 has never felt so heavy until now.
I'd appreciate any suggestions you guys may have. I'm looking forward to your advice. Thank you in advance.
