Air conditioner loses blowing power.

I have a 2002 X5 with 137,000 miles. The air conditioner works fine when first cut it on. 5 minutes after being on, the fan is still blowing the same but 1/2 the air is coming out. 10 minutes later the fan still sounds like its blowing the same except hardly any air at all is coming out. I have replaced FSR but it still does the same thing. The rear air works normal. Before u rake me over the coals about searching...i have thats how i came to replace the FSR. Any suggestions?

I had this issue.
My car has 23k miles on it and the AC stopped blowing any air.

I took this to service yesterday and had the "Final Stage Resistor" replaced.

I'm not sure if this was covered under the warranty or service agreement, but I didn't have to pay for it.

Sounds like many BMWs have this same issue.

It's possible that your replacement FSR was also bad. What you describe sounds exactly like a bad FSR unit.

Not FST

When the FTR goes out, the blower quits. I had this happen too. But in my car, I can hear the blower working. Just that there was no air coming out. I think the evap coil is freezing.
