Stick it to the man, Need a Laser Jammer

Just got a Laser ticket in my work truck. 82 in a 65. Weak ass ticket, thats slow for me. I had just got on the freeway, hit 90 and started to slow as I recalled they have been shooting laser on this freeway recently. A few seconds after letting off the gas, V1 Laser detection lights up like a xmas tree, heavy on the brake but we all know at that point its a done deal. Chippy was blocked by some bushes and he starts running to get in the car and give chase.

Next exit was too far to punch and go, plus in my work truck not a chance. He did write me for 79 so that was at least cool.

1st comes extension due date.
2nd trial by declaration.
3rd court date and hope the chippy won't show.

My question is regarding Laser Jammers. Who is using what? Looking for personal experience here, I can look at the charts myself.

Thanks for the response.

I am leaning towards the interceptor.

They have some new high powered version for 2x the price of the regular. Not sure its justified when the regular intercepter performed so well with the Guys of Lidar test results.

How does your work truck (assuming it doesn't have performance tires, suspension etc) do emergency stops or maneuvers at 90 mph?

Dont want to be an @ss but following speed limit sound like a common sense and is much less trouble than buying expensive electronic. Not to say if you get caught with the laser jammer it is going to cost you big buck. I'm very tempted to say that some people dont get it.

Are laser jammers illegal in NY-state? I wasn't aware that emitting light in any specific wavelegth was controlled by the government, unlike radio frequencies (including RADAR), which are. What exactly is the charge against someone for your LASER gun not functioning properly? This is even more silly considering NY-state's ridiculous speed limit of 55mph max, iirc.



Sorry, just not a big fan of revenue collectors. Not much serving and darn little protecting vs. how many people are getting hurt from things other than speed on the highways (dui, agressive lane changes, failure to yield, etc.), LEO's should be putting their efforts towards stopping gangs, drive by shootings, street racing, car theives, burglers, etc. vs. padding the local coffers by running RADAR/LASER traps... [/rant]
