My wife wants chrome, we have black... I think black adds to the sportiness. It's just a pain to keep clean.
Someone on here has to know, but I would think it's a simple pop out or slide off.

From what I remembered reading posts on RF, it's a pain to remove and install them.

I'm very interested in doing this but I don't know if this is DIY or not. Anybody?

I had a body shop do mine on a 740il, going from chrome to black, because it was such a pain. And they complained about it throughout the job. I assume it's the same for the X.

Is there an available service manual (factory or otherwise) that includes instructions on how to do this?
