I have talked with my tecch, he says that in his stall he can lower my 4.8 till it is literally sitting on the ground. But just remember that the lower you go, the less travel you have with your springs. He recommends that we not mess with it too much b/c the air suspensions are really touchy...but it's really up to you.

You can go to Herb Chambers. This is where Tesv12 dropped his 4.6is by the DIS computer.

Yep Herb Chambers is an option, but only if you don't mind to pay extra for sub-optimal service (pretty much true for all Boston BMW dealers except for Peabody and Foreign Motors) ....

If you don't mind the drive I'd recommed to visit Tulley in Nashua/NH, contact Jay van Sciver (service advisor) and have Bryan (their Master tech) lower your car. They are great people and will take great care of you. You can tell them I (Jan) sent you. Jay's # is 603-888-5050

How much did you lower the the rear of your X5? How much was the ride impacted by lowering it?

I'd think Tulley would charge you somewhere around 80 USD (1 hr) ...
With Herb Chambers I don't even want to guess (they wanted to charge me 600USD for swapping the steering wheel before delivery of my new car) ....
