Yea, I know... My last post contained a photo of an e70 with charcoal rims and it made no sense.

I think I meant to say was this;

One of my NEW favorites happens to be a dark charcoal set of 215s I saw on a (charcoal?) e70. It has taken awhile for the darker colored wheels to grow on me, but I really liked this one.

Aside from the 214s, the 20" staggered 132s would have been a close 2nd on my list (right beside the 87s), but I can't find them anymore! They were once available at Lakeshore Wheel & Tire, but have since been discontinued. Does anyone still have these?

Every other automaker has since stepped up to 20" wheels and GM is now putting 22s" on their Escalades and Denalis (least not forget BMW is putting 21s on some E70s). Yes, we are talking about size... the 63s at the time were enormous, but they were also beautiful and mezmorizing!

I think this is why I like the 214s so much; they put the 63 flavor back into a new wheel that looks right at home and updates the look of an e53. Long Live the e53!!!
In case everyone is scratching their heads... I left out the header to this post. I was referring to the 63s when they first appeared on a new X at the dealer ten years ago...

I think any 19 or 20 inch wheel will make any X5 look more aggressive... but I was in your situation. I too live in the Northeast and my X5 has the 132 19's... I wanted the aggressive look but wheels that were a little kinder to the road and I threw on some All Season's so I don't have to change tires during winter time. My friend has 20 inch 87's and they seemed to run a little louder. He also blew out a tire and the tires for 20's cost a little more than 19's. Living in the NYC area, the roads here are crap.

But if the crappy roads aren't an issue... 87's look hot!

All Right......be easy on the 215's......easy I say!!

I am running the 215's......I definitley like those better than the 214's......

87's are a no brainer......I could have done those but.....went for a different look..

168's .....again no brainer......but would not run them with the theme of my X...

I do agree - the 215's from a straight side shot...are ok...but from angles they look massive.....

..as for them looking like they should be on a mitsubishi......lol! Re think that buddy! ...........if that was the case they would not be on my X..

Rich

Wow, those do look really nice, especially w/ your color X5 etc.
Mine is a Toledo Blue 3.0 model. I'm leaning towards 168's.

It's a bit hard to as all oem rims look good in their own right, but my preference is;
132
87
168
214
215
I would definately go for the 132s if they were still offered in a 20" staggered setup.... I have seen them, but I have not been able to find them. Lakeshore wheel & tire used to sell them but they no longer carry them......Damn! Can anyone help me locate a set at a reasonable price?
