Is there any way to play DVD in the dvd navigation drive?

Hi, I am still familiarizing myself with the X5. I just tried to play a movie DVD in the navigation DVD drive which's located in the trunk. However it doesn't play at all. says "wrong disc for navigation" or something like that. I'm wondering is there any way to play movie DVDs or even better, DivX files burnt to DVD-Rs on that navigation screen? Is there a mod for that? Thanks

Quick answer is no.
The navigation DVD drive
is a drive for navigation only.

Having said that, check this out

Yep, answer is no. Pick up a cheap Alpine DVA-5205 if you want a single DVD player. That's what BMW used.

Great so at least you have a screen to display the picture on.

However what is more important is if you have the tv tuner setup, etc. Do a thread search or read through the navigation and mobile electronics forums. There is literally tons of information on this topic.
