auxillary fan relay location
My A/C works intermittently, the auxillary fan does not always come on. Can anyone tell me where in the X5 the fan relay is located and also does the fan come on and then feed the Compressor? Thanks Dennis |

no relay, the engine control unit sends a pwm signal to the final stage in the fan

The Aux. Fan Relay is located on the lower radiator hose, at the opening where the hose connects to the radiator itself.
AUX fan comes on at specific temperatures, not just when the AC is turned on. I've heard that jumping the connector that plugs into the sensor will force the fan to turn on. That would help determine if you need a new aux. fan or if the problem lies elsewhere. |

that is not a relay. it is a coolant outlet temp sensor. |

My apologies. I wasn't in the right state of mind...I was thinking about the Aux. fan snitch. But killcar is right... |
