Lightbulb Projectors53 / Xenon conversion

After spending the last couple of hours searching the threads, I come asking for advice. One of the halogen bulbs went out in my 2003 X5 tonight, which got me thinking about making the jump to xenon. I looked through eBay, realized I didn't really like any of the ones there (I'm probably one of the few people who LIKE my amber flashers and don't want it to be 100% clear). Then I uncovered some posts from a few years ago about projector53s. Anybody have any experience with these? I've clicked on the links to the seller's site but apparently they don't offer them anymore. Would love some pics as well.

They are basically the DEPO lights you find on eBay. search eBay for bmw x5 DEPO headlights.

Umnitza added their AEs to the headlights and named them P53s. Whatever you do, do NOT order from Umnitza.. do a search on them and you will see why.

You might want to see what simoncpw did to his ride just recently. Amongst other stuff he upgraded his headlights with what looks like the same that you are referring to. Check this thread out for pics and info: Mission Completed... here we go.. He's gone with the oem look on the angel eyes but still looks great. You can always shoot him a PM for clarification on the light bulb issue. Stunning ride.
When the time's right I'll be going the same route.
He sent me a couple of pics that haven't been posted yet, here they are;

Hey Ekvals,
You just jolted me into checking out your new paint and lights pics again as I remembered your new headlights looking 1st class. The main beam light is clean and lacks the 8 ribs as per the ebay version.
Wondering if you could please let me/us know (again) where you got them from. I'm sure the OP could have the amber lens in place as he desired.
Wow, your ride looks sweet man, I'm sure you are very proud of it

Hi X Foomph.

You are using kind words as always, thanks.

I actually have the 2001 headlights, which i modified. These are the original headlights. I just removed the amber, wafers and had some AE put in..

When i get home im putting xenon in the high beam as well..

Im very pleased with my ride. Especially after i got it repainted.. But the modding is a disease..

Im at sea now, but when i get back next week, ill have some 20" 214 style wheels with 275 front and 315 rear waiting for me, also i have the led tailights ready for installment, chrome tailpipes and a new subwoffer as per essams box..

Puuuh.. I need to take it easy soon, but its hard to stop the madness..

Nice result from using stock lights,
Yeah the modding disease is so bloody infectious, this site has cost me a few bob, wouldn't change a thing though
Looking forward to your new rims and tips.

I also like to see a bit of amber! I did not want to venture too far from the stock look. I found these on ebay; the style more resembles the headlights found on the facelifted models.

I have a friend that owns a tint shop and he has many different colors of tint, including amber clear. I am thinking of taking these apart and letting him install the amber tint cutouts on the lenses. Check out the photoshopped version below and let me know what you think....
