Why??????TIA

Would anyone know why approx. 3 minutes after I start the X and drive off I hear 3 short beeps coming from the front of the car. I do not have Bluetooth or anything else installed inside yet....it is definitely not from the stereo. It seems to be coming from the dashboard area. My next stop is the stealer but it would be nice to have one up on them.....

thanks

D

Maybe the top of the hour chime from the clock? Does it happen all the time? Note when it happens, maybe it's just letting you know it's on the hour?

Are you wearing your seat belt? The seat belt will chime
as a reminder if you don't buckle up after a few minutes of driving.

You can push the message /recall button on the right side of the speedometer to find out if there are any maintanance or fault messages.

If you have Park Distance Control, the beeps inform you that you have reached the speed necessary to de-active it's sensors and it turns the PDC system off.

PDC should turn off by itself automatically. Plus, the PDC speakers are below the knee (for the front) and in the trunk (passenger's side) for the rear so if the sound is coming from the dashboard, that ain't it

Reread the post and you will see that is what I said, also he said dashboard "area"... let's not be so quick to throw stones or give the stealer $$$. Trying turning of the PDC (if you have it) immediately after you put the car in drive (or reverse if you back out) and see if the beep remains.

Next try this from BimmerForums...

I'm not sure about your car but mine has a memo button which when set beeps 3 times every hour. You can set it to chime at any time in the hour. BMW put it in to alert drivers of the top of the hour so they could tune in to traffic reports. Hope this helps.
