Rim colour change?

Hi all, just wanted your opinions...

I was talking to a friend about gettting my rims refurbed, and he suggested getting them done in a different colour while they were off the car. I've always liked the look of the ferric grey against the black.

Mine is a 01 4.4 in black, but dont have the BEST (in my opinion) rims for it. I like the 5 spoke rims on the later models.

So I was just wondering what the general consensus was on my current style of rims becoming ferric grey?

Below is a pic of my current style rims..

I've personally never seen that style rims in ferric, but think it might look good.

Powdercoating is a about 100 per wheel, 50 to strip and 50 to paint.

Absolutely...DO IT! Much cheaper than new wheels and I think it will allow a fresh look to a classic design; (I have always liked the original wheels anyway). Post pics when you get it done.

At a quick glance, I thought your X was the e70! All you need to do is add the 4.6is spoiler to smooth out the front!

Kincon, nice pic, thanks for the reference. Think my mind's made up now! Its those wheels that are on the E70's that have gotten my interest in the first place...

Gixxerboy, thanks for your input, I will put up pics as soon as I get it done. Although, knowing myself it will be a couple of months yet!
