AFE Stage 2 Air Intake... experience?

Searched the forum and found lots of threads about the stage 1 AFE intake. Most people say it does not add any power but adds a slightly more agressive engine growl. Has anyone tried the AFE stage 2 kit? This bad boy runs around $500 and would hope it adds some HP and agressive engine growl... any experience?

I think even this kit will not turn your X into an Mustang GT 5.0 circa 1989...

I always add this to all posts on this topic as there have been quite a few.

When doing a CAI.....if done by itself it is a cool mod....easy mod....looks cool under the hood. Performance gain.....slight if that at all. Sound - pretty cool.......

Now if done in conjunction with the xpipe mod and aftermarket exhaust with some Dinan engine and tranny Software .............it fits in that series of mods very well.

C'mon Rich, don't lie to him. I know mine turned into a Mustang GT 5.0 when I added my CAI, more like a Saleen.

But it is true you aren't going to see HUGE power gains by just adding a CAI, you will get some good engine growl though!

Personally, if you are going to spend $500.00 on the AFE CAI, I would spend the extra $100.00 and get the Dinan CAI, its currently listing at $599.99, and I think it looks pretty cool under the hood!

Pretty sure the X5 could take it in a race.

Maybe LIONEL1234554321 has raced one and can comment on it!

haha, does anyone have a video/audio of the dinan or AFE CAI with revs. My friend had a new xterra and put a nismo CAI in it and although it barley added power, it made the car sound absolutly amaaazing

What model X5 do you have? I don't know of anybody who just has a CAI installed. Most of us become addicts and install other mods.

I could get a sound clip of my engine bay with some revs, but I have the V8, and the Dinan TB installed as well. But it should at least give you an idea.
