Does Bluetooth Use a Separate Module?

My 2006 X5 4.4i was unfortunately tagged in the left rear corner. The collision broke some water bottles and eggs in the back of the vehicle, that affected the electronics in the back. The "radio controller" was replaced and all of the electronics work except for the bluetooth - it will not sync up with my phone and when we push the "sos" button on the nav system it does not dial. Prior to the collision, everything worked fine.

My question is whether there is an electronic module separate from the radio controller that controls the bluetooth and phone? The dealer and the collision repair shop can't answer the question or suggest a solution.

Bluetooth is a separate module, and it is located there in the left rear corner.

Since this is an 06, would it not just have a TCU module? There should be no separate bluetooth module. You can go to the dealership and ask for a list of all the options in your car. I am assuming from your message, that you had a bluetooth module prior to the accident? I would go back to the dealership and have them fix it.

Good luck!
