I know a lot of you fellow X5 owners have had the problem with the code;self leveling susp. inactive.Mine is a 05 4.4i with 79,000 miles on it.I just got it out of the shop and it turned out to be a blown fuse causing the codes. My question is; what could cause the fuse to blow in the first place and is this only the beginning of bigger problems to come?

possibilities...
keep an eye out for a open trunklid msg. my '00 had the pinswitch inside the trunklid latch fail open causing the liftgate lites to stay on all the time, which melted one and dead shorted wires together. Suprisingly this caused no blown fuses, only the general module behind the glove box to heat up like crazy and kill the battery overnight. Maybe coincidence but I really doubt it that the self leveling module failed at the exact same time and would cause the X to jack up the back end like a drag racer. I just had to replace it. It is under the cargo floor to the right of the battery, small box by the air pump with only a few wires, some going to a relay right there for the pump. Replaced myself obviously. If you don't have any other problems there are also height sensors by the wheels that could cause problems also.
