Broke/not broke?
I installed an AFE CAI tonight and everything installed fine. I stuck my head in and started the truck. Walked to the front to make sure everything was good and close the hood. Walked back to door and see message...stop engine, oil press. The truck started running rough...I shut it off, let it sit for a few minutes and restarted. No errors and I even took it out for a short drive. Should I be concerned about anything?

On another note. Based on the quick drive, my first impressions are pretty good. I never believe the numbers regarding HP and torque. I've bought CAI's for all my cars. Anyway, butt dyno says is picks up and goes quicker and smoother from a dead stop. Acceleration from a roll also seems smoother and quicker. Anyway, I that's the short of it, hope I didn't break anything. As for a longer review, I do have a short 800 miles/11 hour drive coming up that should give a more complete review.

Chopped the resonators, that's the only plan for now.

I did the AFE CAI about 3 months ago.Accelaration it is a bit smoother! You really get to hear at open throttle that Whozz sound.It is great.People de finitely hear you coming and going. I was originally looking for a Gruppe M CAI but they never answered my emails. I got mine from Bavarian. Enjoy it!

ekaz - where did u get the AFE from?
i'm only seeing them for the 3.0's and 4.4's.
i have a 4.6

I got mine from a guy on ebay.

It lists up to a 4.6. I have a 4.8 and it worked with no problems. I don't think it matters as to 4.4/4.6/4.8, the basic engine is the same, the internals are the displacement differences. Any who, I had a great transaction with this guy, repsonded to all my e-mails. He had it in-stock and shipped on Friday with 2-day delivery for less than his buy it now price.

I was also looking at the gruppe M, but for the price of $1k+.....
