fan speed

I have a 2003 4.4. There is a "max" button that should sets everything to the coldest settings and highest fan speed. The graphical display shows fan on highest setting and temp to 60 dgrees. The air is nice and cold but the fan feels more like a medium speed setting. Any thoughts on does the 2003 generally have a lower fan speed or is this an issue?

Could this be the final stage resistor?

all of the different threads talk about the air not shutting off or blowing hot, but none of threads speak to weak airflow.

The exact same thing just happened to me two days ago. AC working fine and set on max, but slow air coming out of the vents, like it was set to 3 bars and i don't hears the blower fan turning. After reading through most of the threads, i went ahead and purchased a FSR, i figure it's the cheapest fix for now. I'll update when installed.

update: Bought the FSR off ebay with 2 yr warranty for $58 shipped. Installed yesterday in about 35 mins. Fixed the problem. Good as new.

FYI on the DYI instructions, no need to remove glove box or plastic heat duct.
