Noise at 2000 rpm
The noise appeared at 1950-2000 rpm at all speed, no noise and vibration when rev the engine in Park. It is noticeable during either RPM going up or going down (when I take my foot away from gas pedal) to pass the 2000 rpm mark. It sounds like hmmmmming noise, and I could feel the vibration from the gas pedal and floor, but when I put my hand on the gear shifter, I do not feel the vibration. It is more noticable on freeway when I coasting around 60 mph, the RPM is right at 2000 rpm, the noise is constant there. If I speed up to 65-70 mph, the RPM to 2200, the noise disappeared, I could only hear some typical wind and road noise. Any inputs are appreciated. Thanks Jayson |

does it change depending on whether you have your HVAC blower fan on or off? I had a similar issue with a humming type noise between 60-80 that sounded like someone trying to hum and whistle at the same time. it was faint, but very annoying as it only appeared on the highway. it would disappear when I turned off the HVAC fan. it was present as long as the fan was on, independent of fan speed.
turns out there a TSB for new valves for the evaporator drain tubes, which the ends can transmit noise/vibration from the engine. I found the diagnosis on this forum. Told the SA, and they updated the ends. No more noise/vibration = happy camper. Unfortunately, noises/vibrations can be anything from an HVAC drain tube to the drive shaft. Good luck! |
