Removing AWD function from front wheels
Would the truck drive OK without the front wheel drive shafts connected? If I removed the two drive shafts and covered the openings properly, what would happen? What errors would I get and would I hurt anything? I know the idea sounds crazy but do you really need AWD? I live southern California and drive a lot on the highway and I just was thinking of ways to save fuel. I don't need to drive fast and have AWD handling and don't want fuel wasted to power the front wheels. Please don't reply with comments on how silly this sounds but I'm just curious if anyone knows of any experiences of AWD removed on other SUVs, cars, and trucks.
