2006 Bluetooth w/assist module part number - noob

2004 X5 4.4i 90000 miles
Hello everyone, just bought this fine ride last week and was wanting to get started modding...could you help with the following and don't kill me, I did
try the search function....
I need the Bluetooth w/assist module current part number, I have searched but there seems to be lots of different numbers...I was thinking an 06 so it would have VR...in looking at what I have, there is a BT antenna already mounted, would that be for the assist?
I am getting ready to place a Tischer order for a couple things and wanted to include the module...TIA!!
It looks like I am getting about 15.5 mpg while running the a/c in 100 degree heat, is that about right in town?

You should be set and ready to go for using bluetooth. I had to go outside of the site to find the best instructions....but essentially, you turn the key to the second position while holding the shouting man and the dash should say Activate Phone...or the MID might say it as well if click the phone button when you turn the key to second position. Have your bluetooth activated on you phone and you should receive a msg to enter the key. If you don't have your key, it's on the bluetooth module in the back. It should be a 4 digit nubmer next to something that say "PK".

Go to this link and then launch the .pdf instructions.

Thank you for the reply, but i thought the 04 only had the assist feature? I want to install the 06 version of the ULF, so I can have BT w/assist and VR.

There is a bluetooth forum. You may or may not be able to replace the module with the Assist and bluetooth module. There is a lot of information on that forum. One member just mentioned that they were able to replace the TCU in the 2003 M3 with the 2006 TCU and it worked and so did assist. What is the Manufacture date of your vehicle? This will help determine if you can do the TCU or if you are stuck with the ULF which removes BMW assist function.

Good luck!

Thank you for replying... after I wrote this post, I started looking at the BT forum...sorry everyone...true noob...the manufacture is 4/04....So if I had the part number of the TCU, perhaps I could do the same thing and swap them out.
