its easy, pull the switch out and go down to your local dealer and tell them you need another one of them. Its not that much. Maybe $10-15. GitRDone!

I had this same exact problem. Bought a small felt pad and placed it above the switch. No problem since.

I had exactly the same problem with my 528i - you should do what JT/MC said. I did the same, unplug it and replace new one. Problem was solved.

I had the same problem with my 2002 X5. I found the cause on this site and for now the switch is unplugged.
all the staff in my building are happy that I have stopped the alarm from going off roughly 12 times a day. I have also made my wife's life easier as she was running out to see who was messing with the B. Great site and saved hundreds of dollars in shop time. |

Anyone have a part number handy? Did an oil change this afternoon and later on, the alarm started going off randomly (can't seem to keep the X happy...
)Cheers, Dan

Ok, finally got around to purchasing a new switch (ended up disconnecting the old one, since the alarm kept going off
).Anyway, here is the new and improved part number...61-31-9-119-052. The part runs about $12.75 plus tax. So far, no siren noise from the X. Dan
