Front wheel bearing

I found out that my front left wheel bearing is starting to go. Is this something I can do myself or do I need to take it to a shop??

You are going to need a shop to do it. The bearings require some kind of fancy tool to remove. It not just a regular press.
I replaced both front bearings. One came off easy the other one was a real pain in the a**.

Did you replace just the bearings or the flanges too?? An Indy is telling me that I have to replace the flange also for a total of $430 for one side. Seems a bit steep to me.

Flanges? Do they mean the hub? It may be that the repair is easier if you replace the bearing and hub together. I've seen the bearing and hub sold together pre-pressed. I've had one side done for about $500 and the other for $300. In those two cases, the bearing and hub were separate. $500 at the dealer, ~ $300 at indy shop.
