Decided on the X5 4.6is people. Please help !!!
Well I have been on the wire with deciding to get an X5 4.4 from here or an X5 4.6is from the States and I think my final decision will be to get one from the states. So I am looking for a site that sells dependable X5. Now I live in Toronto Ontario Canada and to limit the amount of driving I would have to do is there anything anyone would recommend ?? If I locate a truck I like can I request them to do a leak down and compression test and a full inspection to make sure everything is ok and Im not buying a lemon ? Also I guess I would have to go down to the states to take a look at it I assume ? Any help would be greatly appreciated I am looking for 4.6is for around $16,000 - $17000 US obviously with low kilometers/miles If there is anyone here selling one or can point me to one please let me know Thanks

site:craigslist.org X5 4.6is - Google Search The above link should give you all of the hits for a X5 4.6is that are on Craigslist. As I have said to other members of this forum that if they find a car in my area I am more than happy to go check it out for them, take pictures and if they arrange all of the service inspection stuff I will take the car and drop it off for them. I am sure you might be able to find other members who will do that for you!

I think there are 2 4.6's here for sale on the forum. ChilliWilli is in the NY area and his 4.6 looks great. A bit more than what you want to pay but it's a great looking X

Anything is possible, with digging and luck, but a 4.6 V8 for that kind of
dough is going to be a former wreck or, with lots of miles as previously posted. Besides all the "tests" possible, it will be a high mileage car that you may be taking a great leap of faith on; not a fun or economical car to own, imo. I think your price range is unrealistic... But, good luck. mD
