weird happenings

this being my first bimmer i am learning something new everyday...today i had the engine running just checking things and i removed the dipstick and you actually hear motor oil gurgling and splashing sounds coming out of the dipstick tube and it is loud....no other car i ahve ever owned makes noise when you remove the dipstick if the engine is running..i tried it on my honda minivan and you hear nothing...am i crazy or is this car just different from every other car...thanks rob

I can hear it on my '01 3.0 X5, and on my '02 Vette. Can't hear it on
the CEO's pos Honda CR-V. May have something to do with oil pressure
at idle? (I know the Vette runs 40+ psi on oil pressure at idle).
No idea...doesn't bother me. The oil is moving around in the galleries doing
its job, imo.
