2001 X5 - Rear Audio/Nav Storage Area
My wife has a 2001 X5 with GPS, CD changer and TV tuner all in the back of the car on the drivers side in the "storage" area. The units are all jimmy rigged in that area, I believe because her stupid brother "modified" the car and/or added accessories. I am wondering if anyone can suggest a place online where I might purchase the correct rack for the area so I can properly mount / secure the CD changer, GPS DVD and TV tuner. Thanks Rich |

Post a picture, because CD, GPS and a tuner usualy all fit there without jamming anything. There are just brackets that the units mount to, on top of each other. If you're missing those....and your relative just packed the units without securing them and shut the door, I would go to a dealer, the brackets can't be too expensive.
![]() edit...go to dealer to buy the parts, not for them to install them of course. Last edited by ARTRIGA; 07-12-2009 at 08:06 PM. |

Hi - I can't post a photo at the moment as the car is full of camping gear! Suffice it to say the mounting rack appears to have been badly mangled.
I would like to install a connection for an MP3 player if possible and then I can remove the multi-disc player - and the TV as it doesn't work anyway. Rich |

the brackets for this are cheap, if I remember correctly there are 2 brackets you would have to purchase, both under $20 from the dealer
