Buying an X5 tomorrow !! Need advice please look in !!!!

Well last week I put down a deposit for a 2004 X5 4.4L. Its has the premium package and it’s a one owner off lease truck with 94,000km. The truck is immaculate inside and out and I told the car dealer upon my mechanics approval and inspection I would buy it so I put down a deposit for the price and condition of the truck I couldn’t find no where up here.

Now my question to you guys is what are the major things I really should keep an eye out for upon inspection ? My mechanic is really good but if there is anyone that can tell me what to look out for during inspection (maybe something you overlooked during your purchase that could have or did become a potential problem). I’m not buying the dealers warranty cause it sucks so I’m flying solo on this one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated people and as soon as I get it Ill post pics up

Thanking you in advance

George

just take it to your indy. if he says it is fine, then the rest is up to you as you maintain it. get the service records, hard copies of all of them and make sure the service is up to date.

then drive it like you stole it!

what are these going for in Canada right now?

I know its seem small but check every part of the car like the cd player since sometimes we believe its always working and that little thing can go for 700$.

Strongly recommend getting a warranty. Bought my car on the Friday from a reputable place, a/c problem diagnosed on the Saturday, car in for a/c repair on the Monday. My car only has 74,000 miles. I predicted my second BMW experience would be pleasure and torment in equal measure, soon proved right...

check for pixel failures in the dash and radio. that became a problem for me, i can't even see my mileage anymore! it started with only a few, and became a PITA.

X5's are still a little expensive in Canada. I've seen many 2004 4.4's around 94,000km for $27k. 4.8is is even more expensive, some go for around mid $40k range for an 04.
