Jealousy is a waisted emotion, but what do I have to be jealous of in the first place? Are you really laughing outloud and slamming your hand and head on your desk, or are you just trying to be dramatic and amuse yourself. Do me a favor.....slam your head harder, please.

My 01 just rolled a little over 82k now, running like a champ. Just finished a drive from Boise to Seattle, down to Reno, then back to Boise to assist in a move. Bought it w/ 78k for $13k and a "lifetime" engine and tranny warranty was thrown in for free as part of the dealerships sales pitch. I'm not worried about the engine since the M62/M62TU physically is a good engine, but the trannies are iffy.

I'm not pushing my 98 740iL either that has 138k which isn't plagued w/ VANOS issues (see timeframes above)I don't understand peoples general idea that 01's are any worse than newer models. Age is the only determining factor as these engines are the same block since 95 when it was called an M60 (4.0), 97(4.4) went to an M62 and 99 (VANOS added) are M62TU up to 03. After that they're called N62....still the same block, still the same VANOS return valve issues, notorious valleypan and radiators blowing up. Whatever could happen to my 01 will happen to your 200* year X also, unless you only got 3.0's.

Any other smartass comments?

WOW, try it out and tell us how it affects performance... if you get a sub 5 seconds 0-60, let me know, i might get one...

you should get back your protective-preservative-moustache thing on your hood, it would look great with the chrome wheels and super-cool M badge... I would recommend that you add a "No Fear" on your back glass, or "follow me if you want to die" on your bumper... classyyyyyyyyy

I dunno...maybe Tamba is a tool, or maybe because the whole thread was basically bashing other members, which we don't need here.
