Wipers only work on or off - no rain sensing or intermittent

Anyone know why my wipers quit working on rain sensor or intermittent, they work low or high and when I turn the car off and switch position 1 (rain sensing) and start the car they don't come on, not even in the rain...but if I touch the intermittent dial, they come on and stay on....TIA!!

I believe you cant leave it there and expect it to work when the rain comes... you have to put it to 0 or 2 then back to 1 again...

one reason i can think of is to prevent it from inadvertently working when you go to car wash...

im sure others will chime in...

According to the Owners manual you can leave it in position one, but yes if you go to the car wash, I would think you would have to switch to 0. I will check fuses when I get home, just in case...I did work in the fuse panels, when I put in my aux jack and my BT/Asisst TCU....so I may have bumped something, who knows....Thanks! Oh and they won't work on intermittent at all...

You must move it back to "off", and then move it up, next time, for the
rain sensor feature to work...unless something else is amiss with your car.
And, you may off bumped/moved the intermittent to zero...

You are likely inadvertently leaving it in position I all the time (automatic). Push it all the way down (single wipe), and let it spring back to position 0 (off). Then bump it back up once; this is automatic (on vehicles so equipped, all US models).

One must reinitialise the sensor everytime you restart the vehicle for US models.

Not being a wise guy, but how do you know you don't have rain sensor
working? Is it raining in PC,MO?

That was how I discovered it, today in the rain. Before, if you switched the wipers to position one, they would not come on until the rain, plus you could adjust the speed on intermittent, now I have neither, position one is on constant.

Problem solved without dealer intervention - whew...

It was simply my windshield mounted GPS. Apparently it was catching the eye of the sensor, so I repositioned it and voila, so far all is well!
Evidently this sensor sends out invisible lines down and across the windshield, checking for water and the GPS was in the way....
