middle & foot vents blowing only hot air

Having a weird issue with my x5, no matter what driver side blows HOT HOT air, unless i turn the dial to all cold then i get all cold air from all the vents. I do have a digital climate control, which i dont think is the issue. So i can put the dials to all full hot, then set my temp to about 20c, and it will blow nice warm air to the passenger side, but HOT air onto the driver side and my feet. Foot vents and the windshield vents are a different story, no matter what i set the temp or dial to, i get just HOT air, however passenger side works normal for the foot vent. So currently i can't ever use auto climate, since i get way too hot on driver side so i'm constantly changing the dial from cold to hot trying to get the right temp. has anyone seen this weird issue im having?

well the mechanic i brought to didn't have time to troubleshoot, i actually brought my car there for maintenance stuff, so i was hoping after they had some time to troubleshoot. Im planning to bring it in again next week to troubleshoot at another shop. I've asked around, and 1 mechanic thinks its the hvac unit, another thought it was water valve. I'll found out for sure by next week

we had a similar problem in our Audi A4, turned out that it was a little low on air con gas. The gassed it up and then all vents were cold again

I don"t think its an AC problem because the top vents will blow ice cold air and the foot vent feels like 85 degrees, so i can"t use the bottom vent option.

yup and also the rear vent blows only hot air. Worst part is that even if the rear vent is turned off, its still hot as hell, so the middle console gets soo hot

Yep, that's the same as what happened to me. Middles vents were cold and side vents and footwell vents were about 85F
