Hello everyone, I've been reading over the forums for the past couple of months and I have learned a great deal from you all

Now I have a question I parked my X5 (2005 3.0L) in my usual spot near my office building, at the end of the day I decided to give the old girl a wash. To my astonishment the paint felt like sandpaper. I usually claybar and wax every 3 months and the paint always feels like silk. I later learned that the guys next door to me were spray painting and the spray must have landed on my car

It's completely invisible to the naked eye but I can feel it on the paint and the windows. I'm traveling to Texas soon so before I go I'm planning a full detail which should remove the spray paint, BUT my question is:

- Is it safe to clay bar the rain sensitive windshield?
- I noticed the windows seem to have a water resistant coating on them, can I clay bar the windows as well without scratching them?

May Thanks fellow BMW fans

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Yes and yes. The windshield and other glasses can be clayed without any worries.

I'm considering taking a cloth with some paint thinner, I'm worried about the clay making my windows hazy like it did with my previous 335i
