AUX input on 02 ?

My build date is 05/02 so I am assuming that I don't have the plug on the back of my buisness CD player to add the AUX input to my glovebox. What are my other options to get an AUX input plug? I want to instal my Sirius Sat radio controler and I need an AUX input to tap into or find the actual antenna wire... any help..

There are some aftermarket AUX input solutions that use the CD changer interface. Try hitting up EAS or BSW (both are site sponsors) for some ideas.

When you get the item, will you PLEASE PM me? I'm dying to have aux input in my 01 X5. I've tried following along w/ the homemade aux input connections, but apparently it needs to be 02 and older for me to me to be able to use the aux mode. It looks like the kit you ordered is more for putting the cd player into changer mode, but instead you have a headphonejack. I don't have a cd changer, so I don't know which pins to tap into...im hoping that once you get the kit, you can show/tell me which pins the BSW harness connects to!

There are no pins to tap into. You simply plug the CD changer harness (located back in the left rear electronics bay) into the module and you are all set to go.

But if someone doesn't have the factory cd changer, does that mean the aux input plug is way in the back? There are three plug-ins on the back of my business cd....for the cd player itself that is like 2/3 of the whole plug-in, then 1/3 for what I guess is the cd changer then the other 1/3 that poeple use for the aux pins if they're stereo is an 02 or newer. I've tried plugging into the aux pins before, but it doesn't work. Everyone says it something to do w/ either the year or the software version of the deck. I have the proper software version, but the wrong year deck. I haven't tried to play w/ the cd changer part of the pinouts, but I know there just has to be a way to make a homemade version using the cd changer plugs just like people have figured out how to use the other pins to get "AUX" to come onto the display. I could give a crap if the screen has to say "AUX" or "CHANGER", just as long as I have in input to plug my phone into the X so I can stream radio.

This article shows you the pin-outs on the radio module. The aftermarket AUX input is going to be looking to attach to 12V, ground and i-bus (3 pin CD-changer connector) and the left/right audio signals (6 pin CD-changer connector). You could make your own connections on the back of the radio, but personally I think it would be just as easy to extend the AUX input audio leads from the back of the vehicle (where the CD changer connectors are located) up to the front.

Which article? I would think that I could just tap into the cd changer connects for the L and R, but doesn't the stereo wanna send out little signals through the ibus confirming things, or can it be done like the homemade aux input where a resistor is wired inline w/ the connections to fool the stereo? I've always thought there has to be a way where I won't have to spend almost $100 to be able to play my phone through the stereo. Fingers crossed!

Macro's of the pins would be awesome so I can see which ones it uses.
