Exclamation Does hood protector really helps?

I am about to paint my car's hood, fenders and bumper front,so the thing is that i can't put clear bra on it right after being painted,as paint needs about 20-30 days to cure compeltely. But i don't want to damage it with Idaho rocks on the road in 1st day after paint. So should i buy hood plastic protector to save paint from any damage for a month till I am able to put clear bra??? Any ideas or suggestions are welcome :-)

Anyone have picture how it looks white car with hood protector? In closely shot :-)

I have one on my X, PO put it on, dont have a close pic.
I wasnt a big fan but It grew on me and I think it adds a nice touch to it!
I think that it does help avoiding rocks, scuffing up the hood etc. from big trucks
(i try not to stay behind them)
Chile1 is a member I noticed has one, i'm sure he'll chime in.

Tambalolong had the hood protector on his white X5. Hopefully he doesn't mind me posting some of his pictures!

It does help - a lot . What I was trying to say was that it may not be esthetically pleasing to the eye if your car's color does not flow with the color of the hood protector.

Some folk choose looks over functionality. IMHO, the clear bra will help with the small chips, however, it won't do much against the big gravel rocks that the Semi's tend to fling back at cars.

So in your opinion hood protector will help much more than clear bra???

As ugly as it seems to some, the hood protector will protect the front of your X5 100x more than the clear bra.
