Cigarette lighter/rear ac vents...

Been driving the X for a little over a week now. While I was gone,my son spilled a smoothie in the back and it got in the vents, anyone know how to take them off so I can clean it.My wife got some of it(great woman that she is)but couldn't get it all. Also, the cigarette lighter up front is stuck,I dont smoke but its annoying as hell.Thx in advance.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Open the center console, the storage bin lifts out (pops up/out). If it hasn't been out before it may be tough the first time. Once that is out you are staring at a soft material duck that can be popped out easily for cleaning. If you look at the top bu the vent there are 2 phillips screws that go straight back into the vents, remove those and the vents can be removed as well. Unfortunately if you need to get deeper in the floor duck than you can from there, the whole console would need to be removed... so hopefully he didn't get too much in there.

As for the front lighter element, don't know if rust is holding it or if something got bent that is jamming it... but either way you are likely to need the lighter element, socket, and plastic ring (that the light hooks to) as you will either need to remove the console to remove it by means of releasing the catch tabs underneath, or pull up so hard they break and you damn near punch your self in the face when it lets go. (seriously )
