The kits and phones back then were usually analog phones, which have been turned off by the FCC. A kit to incorporate the new digital phones the same way will cost $2000!!! Easier and cheaper to get a bluetooth unit, instead.

I have a 2002 4.6is and mine is a motorola track phone and it was hooked up to verizon. I called verizon to activate it as a second line on my account and they said they could not because it was not a 911 capable phone (does not give a location if you call 911) and according to the government those can not be activated anymore. It would be nice to find and adaptor to make it Bluetooth capable threw this connection!

Anyone here remove that setup in the top of the armrest and adapt something to make better use of the space? You could at least get a few pens, napkins, etc in there!

Does this just charge the iphone or can use use the phone hands free in the X5? Im guessing you would have to buy new wire harness to fit in the BMW. I have a 2002 4.6is.
