Vent hoses for the oil separator. VERY common failure on E53's.

looks like the other one is completely flat too. You will need to change both.
I had this ptoblem on my 03 4.4 last year. Took me probably an hour to do that,,,save the money - DIY |

Other items too look at.
Hose 12 (Oil return hose) in the diagram is probably gone too. You cant see it because it is under the intake. But I don't know how you would replace it without taking off the intake.
An if you taking off the intake, replace the cover aka (oil separator attached to back of intake) Hose 9 is probably mosh too. Yea been there.
