Lost my service book...any ideas ?

They guy that i bought my car from has lost my service book....we saw it at the time of purchase but forgot to take it. He was supposed to post it and is now claiming its lost.

I am assuming i may not get it now.....does anyone know how i can recreate it...? Its due for a service and i thought if i i get it serviced at BMW stealership they may give me a new one with a stamp.....but what do i do about the previous stamps. It was originially registered in Italy and its a 2005 sept model....

Failing that any idea what sort of discount I should demand of the seller before i sue his ass.....? I am assuming here that I will get less for a car without the service book....but i need an ideas from you guys how much less would you pay for the same car without service book especially considering its not that old.....i was thinking about 10-15% discount at least.

Point is I didnt get what was advertised (full service history) and i wouldnt have paid the price i paid if i knew it didnt have a service book.

God Bless & PEACE.

Write or E-mail the dealer where it was
serviced in italy. Use your Vin# and request it.

Here in the Colonies, any BMW dlr has the easy ability to "run" your key and look up/print out the entire service history of that car.
Some dlrs are reportedly disinclined to do so for 2nd owners...at least you might be able to see your car's history, if your country's
dlr has that ability. As for the service book, I still have my book(s) from '01, in the car, but in all the times it was in for "service" I
never got a "stamp" in the maintenance section of the book. Not a big deal here, imo, or to me when I sell it...

That book does not change the value of your car, at least here in US. Your ignition key holds all that info + Dealer records in the computer.
