New-B looking at CPO 2006 or a 5 series

Hi,
New to forum. Outstanding resource here! I'm quite torn at the moment. I'm between getting a used 2006 X5 vs a 2007 530i. I have driven both and absolutely love both cars. I wish I could afford to get both. I have been looking at 2006 X5s with under 30K mileage and have been looking to get the price to under 30K out the door if possible. I have been trying to go the CPO route and see most are priced at around 32-33K with similar mileage and not many options. How much haggle room is there typically? I want to try to get the price to around 28-29 and hopefully that is doable.

Finally..over the long time..persuade me to get an x5. I love the look and the versatility, but at the same time the 5 series is a sharp car and one year newer. I want as reliable of a vehicle is possible, so I really don't know which route to go. All opinions and help appreciated.
