X5 Non-Sport Door Handle Painting
I'm looking to get this done. My questions are: 1. Who has done this and do you have pictures (to judge colour match and finish etc..) ? 2. Were they painted on or off the vehicle? 3. How much? Appriciate the advice. Cheers, |

you should paint them off the vehicle. tough job getting all the handles off. probably a days work or lots of money to have someone do this for y0u. get a good painter and he should have no prob matching the paint. probably 500.00

hmmm makes me wonder if its actually worth it......We're only planning to hang onto our current X5 for another year or so then upgrade to a 2005 X5 3.0 Diesel. |

Errr.... I did exactly the opposite - switched from bodycolor to black color handle. Except I replaced the original handles totally with the OEM black plastic handles (cost even lass than painting over the original ones).
I agree with jst that you should paint them off the vehicle. But taking the handles off was actually pretty easy base on my experience, as long as you know the exact step 1-2-3. Probably a 5 mins job. Take a look at this and see if it helps you.
