Another Broken Window Post

Hi Everyone,
I am new to the forum but not cars & forums in general. I understand the search feature & I know about the common regulator probs but my window problem does not seem to be as common.

My drivers window is stuck in the "up" postion. I pulled the door panel off and everything seems to look Ok. I dont see any broken cables in the regulator assy or anything broken in general. I see in the search field that the window holders can break but I cannot see them too well in the up position. If anyone has had the same experience & can chime in that would be great as my next step would be to pull the regulator assy out. The switch seems Ok as the motor clicks when I try to put the window down.

TIA

Hey TIA, any luck finding out your problem, I have the same issue with my driver side rear window. It intermittently goes down (always goes back up). I tested the switch, took the door panel off and even took the motor apart and cleaned the brushes and still nothing. The only thing I can thing of is that the wire pulley system is somehow getting jammed??

I just tracked it down to a bad window switch. I was suprised as they never seem to go. I took the whole switch apart & did not see any evidence of a bad or burnt board, prob a bad hardware chip.

If yours is dropping in its own I would suspect the regulator is starting to go. Mine never dropped on its own it just was stuck up.

No mine does not drop on it's own. If it was a bad switch you would have known that immediately because either the driver door cluster or passenger door switch would have worked right??

I swapped the switch out & then it worked fine. My master drivers swith assy is waht went bad but it did not affect any other systems.
