Performance chip??

Has anybody installed one of these? If so, does it do what it states? Seems too good to be true for the money... or maybe I am too sceptical.

My guess is it modifies some sensor inputs to the DME, and I can say that it would void warranty on any engine or electronics problems. I wouldn't trust it myself.

If you are really curious about it ask them to send you the install instructions and I can look up the pin numbers at the DME and see what signals it is modifying.

If I change from halogen bulb fluid to xenon fluid, do the blinkers get brighter, or just change colors...?

Now don't quote me on this, but I believe it'll change your bulbs from a nice amber to something more a tacky red and flash like a strobelight, similar to all those cool Honda ricerockets out there using LED's w/o resistors. Consult w/ Pentosins website for specific fluids :P

When I was an F14 PC in the Navy, we'd mess w/ new recruits w/ stuff like this. Obviously muffler bearings wouldn't pass, but we'd get em w/ blinker fluid and "go get the keys for plane 11"....oh the pranks we played.

Thank you m5james for the smart ar#e response. That was why I came to this site because I thought there was less of the "stereotype" BMW driver. Looks like I was wrong.

Dude, I'm new here and I can tell you that this site is full of very helpful people who will answer intelligent questions in kind.

That said, did you really think you weren't going to get some smart-alecky answers when you ask about a $20 part that will "magically" give you 55+ horsepower? You may as well have gone to your green grocer with a handful of beans and ask him if they'll really grow into a beanstalk...
