Do I have iDrive and, how do I work this thing??

Hi, My 2006 X5 arrived (from New York state) last night. It's beautiful. I'll post first impressions later after I drive it up the mountain today. But, my vehicle has nav and premium hi-fi, premium package and nearly every other option. I went to study the manual this morning to figure out audio, nav, etc. It turns out that the nav manual is missing. The regular owners manual tells nothing about this (complex and unintuitive) system. Is this iDrive... the dreaded iDrive??? Does my vehicle have this? I know I should know but, I do not.

Is there a manual online for the info I need? Thanks. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks.

(I'm putting my mountain bike in the back and heading up to 10,000 feet in a few minutes).

If you dont have a big knob by the gear shift then you dont have it. Only 2007 and up had the idrive.

For the manual I think you can find it on the home page.

idrive debuted in the E70 which came out in 2007. The E53 does not have idrive.

If you mean the iDrive that my wife's 2007 328i has, I beg to differ.

The worst interface in my humble opinion.
