Slight Wind/Whistle Noise
Somewhere around 65-70 MPH, there is a slight wind noise coming from what sounds like the center of the dash near the windshield. It is hard to locate, for obvious reasons, but has anyone else experienced something similar, and if so, what was the culprit? TIA for all of your help. I have learned so much from this forum already, and I appreciate everyone's great attitude and more so ABILITY to help out! |

First check the vents for the AC/Heat, could be that one of them is very loose and its causing it to make those noises.
Second, check if its sun roof related... sometimes it may sound like the dash or the windshield when in reality its the sunroof. Good luck and I hope Ive been helpful

I will check that out tomorrow. I did play with the vents the other day while I was driving, with no such luck. I will check out the sunroof then.
Thanks. And I will post some pictures tomorrow, from my office computer, since this laptop does not want to cooperate with the SD card reader... |

Maybe you need to reinstall the drivers for the SD Card Reader? :P

While driving and hearing the wind noise open and close the sunshade for the sunroof (leaving the glass closed) this should tell you if it is the sunroof seal/glass panel adjustment.

Yeah...been down that road already! Drivers, patches, reinstalled the entire "Vaio Media Center" drivers. No luck :/ If I had the patience...I would work through it with Sony Customer Support, but I am not that patient!
Ahhh, that is a great suggestion Weasel... I have read a lot of high quality posts / suggestions from you... Much appreciated man! I will post my results tomorrow! (Again...with pictures!) |

Oh, and with my old windows machine when the built in SD slot gave me trouble, I just got one of the plug in USB style slots for a couple dollars. Worked for me.

Yeah, I will be bringing my camera plug home from now on. It seems like I have 4 or 5 different ways to transfer the pictures, but never have the pieces I need in the same spot!
I think I will buy one of the USB adapters to keep in my laptop case...
